Singapore Inflation Holds Above 5% as Transportation Costs Surge

    Singapore’s inflation rate held above 5 percent for a fourth month as housing and transportation costs surged.
    The consumer price index rose 5.5 percent in September from a year earlier, the Department of Statistics said in a statement today. That compares with the 5.6 percent median estimate of 15 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. Inflation was 5.7 percent in August, according to previously reported data. Full story
